Paula Morão is Full Professor at the Romance Literatures Department of the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon. She got her PhD at the same university in 1988.

At the Centre for Comparative Studies, she coordinates the Project Textualities.

Her main areas of research and teaching include: 19^th -21^st century Portuguese Literature, Autobiographical Literature, Textual Criticism applied to modern texts, relationships between Literature and other Arts.
