Massimo Fusillo

Massimo Fusillo (Naples 1959) Graduation: Scuola Normale Superiore and University of Pisa, tutored by Graziano Arrighetti and Guido Paduano PhD in Literary Sciences (Rhetoric and Ermeneutic) at the University of Calabria Dissertation on the Greek Novel published by Marsilio (Venice), and then translated by Les Editions du Seuil (Paris), Fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung (1989-90). Currently he is Full Professor of Literary Criticism and Comparative Literature at the University of L’Aquila. He is also the Chair of the Curriculum in European Literatures, Coordinator of the PhD Program in Literary Genres. Previously Assistant Professor at the University of Pisa and Associate Professor at the University of Messina. Member of the Board of Council of the Italian Association of Theory and Comparative History of Literature, of the Association “Pier Paolo Pasolini” and of the Editorial Board of the Journal KLEOS.

His main fields of interest include: Ancient Narrative, Modern Reception of Classical Literatures (La Grecia secondo Pasolini. Mito e cinema, La Nuova Italia, Florence 1996), Thematic Criticism (L’altro e lo stesso. Teoria e storia del doppio, La Nuova Italia, Florence 1998), Cinema and Literature.
