Fernanda Mota Alves is Associate Professor of German and Comparative Studies at the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon. She got her PhD in German Literature at the same university in 1989.
Since 2016, she is the Director of the Centre for Comparative Studies, where she coordinates the Project Aesthetics of Memory and Emotions.
Her main research interests lie in memory and emotion Studies, representations of the modern and contemporary city, 19th century and contemporary German literature.
