Cristina Almeida Ribeiro is Full Professor at the Romance Literatures Department of the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon. She got her PhD in French Literature at the same university in 1987.

Coordinator of the project ECHO: Poetry and Poets from the Cancioneiro Geral, she is also a member of the research team of World Literature: Perspectives in Portuguese.

Her main research interests lie, at present, in late medieval and early modern poetry and in the theories and practices of short fiction.
