Pedro Querido concluded his PhD in Comparative Studies in May 2021 with the thesis Listening to the Tale of the Old Man: Conceptions of Old Age in Radio Works by Samuel Beckett and Wolfgang Hildesheimer.
Pedro Querido holds a BA degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures, specialized in German Studies (University of Lisbon), an MA degree in English Literature (University of London) and another in Teaching English and German (New University of Lisbon). He collaborated in the False Movement research project (CEC-FLUL) at the end of 2015.
He was admitted to the PhD-COMP Doctoral programme in the academic year of 2015/2016, and was awarded a scholarship (PD/BD/127930/2016). His research, on the interaction between the concept of the absurd and the theme of old age in radio work by Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter, Robert Pinget and Tom Stoppard, is conducted under the supervision of Professors Manuela Carvalho (University of Lisbon), Oliver Davis (University of Warwick) and Ana Bela Morais (University of Lisbon).
He is a member in training of the Centre for Comparative Studies (University of Lisbon), and will now be collaborating with the research project RIAL – Reality and Imagination in Art and Literature.
