Inocência Mata is Assistant Professor at the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, in the area of Literature, Arts and Culture. She got her PhD at the same university. She is currently Professor at the University of Macau, where she teaches with a special license, being vice-director of the Department of Portuguese, at the School of Arts and Humanities.
At the Centre for Comparative Studies, she coordinates the Projects GENORE – Gender, Normativity, Representations and Memorialist Discourse and the Building of History.
Her main areas of research are African and Portuguese-speaking Literatures, Postcolonial studies and Gender studies.
